Celebrate Recovery was founded in 1991 at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California by Pastor John Baker, with the purpose of helping others find freedom for any hurt, habit, and hang-up.

One of the guidelines of Celebrate Recovery is that anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. This means that the identity of who comes to CR and what they share is not disclosed to anyone outside of CR. The only exception is if someone threatens to injure themselves or another person.
